Politics, Photographs, & Football: The Dual Lives of Frank Shively & Alexander Upshaw.

May 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Politics, Photographs, & Football: The Dual Lives of Frank Shively & Alexander Upshaw. The Western Heritage Center’s community historian Lauren Hunley spent months researching this incredible story!  Discover the parallel lives of two Crow men, Frank Shively and Alexander Upshaw, as they intersected and influenced landmark events of American Culture. From the foundations of American football to the photographs of Edward S. Curtis, both men left their stamp on American history while struggling with the dual aspects of native and Western lifestyles.

Thanks to our generous sponsors the S.S. Heyneman Foundation, Billings Community Foundation’s James Wrightson Educational Endowment Fund, Jim and Chris Scott, Mayor Bill Cole and Anne Cole, Billings Public Library Foundation, and First Interstate Bank.
